About Me

With over 20 years of experience working in traditional non-profit licensed childcare I have deepened and attuned my skills to truly centre the child in my practice. I hold a diploma in Early Childhood Education from George Brown College (2007) and a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Studies from Ryerson University (2014). I am also a certified Forest School Practitioner with Forest School Canada, through The Child and Nature Alliance Canada (2017). The creation of Greenwood Preschool is the culmination of my life's work in childcare, pulling many elements from traditional preschool that I believe serve the whole-child, while at the same time providing the extremely intimate and personalized care that I believe young children deserve. I am passionate about outdoor play and education and highly value inquiry-led, land based learning. Since 2018 I have been running forest school programs for kids ages 4 to 7 years in Toronto's Don Valley. My two children Esme and Bodhi have been hugely inspirational in my journey as an educator and have helped reshape my practice for the better since making me a parent.
